A: Anyone who is hungry. LOVE's kitchen believes in retaining the dignity of our clients. We don't require clients to prove their need or explain anything. Our mission is simply to feed hungry people.

Q: In what ways can I help support LOVE's kitchen?
A: 1. Give money. Even small gifts help.
    2. Give of your time. Volunteer to help serve food, receive food items, or maintain our facility.

Q: May I drop off groceries for LOVE's kitchen?
A: Individual food donations are welcomed: Add LOVE's kitchen to your grocery shopping list each week. Good choices for the food pantry include the following: pasta, rice, spaghetti sauce, canned fish, meats, and fruits or vegetables.

Q: What else should donors to know?
A: Stop by one day and witness our filled dining room. Our meal count of 6,500 meals each month tells our story in a simple way. We are needed. Financial donations are used to pay for daily operational costs, which include gas, power and water bills. Your tax deductible donations give the support needed to provide a balanced meal and a safe welcoming environment to our clients.

Q:How many meals are served daily?
A: About 300 meals are served a day.

Q:How are meals prepared?
A: Our pantry, freezer, and refrigerator are our grocery store. We take inventory and plan a meal that includes a meat, a vegetable, a starch, a bread and a dessert. We encourage our clients to drink lots of water by providing it with every meal. We also serve a variety of beverages. Menus include freshly prepared recipes and items donated by a variety of certified Food Service providers. Foods are prepared, served, held, and stored in accordance with MS Department of Health Regulations.

Q: When is a good time to drop off donations?
A: The best time to donate is Monday through Saturday from 8-10 A.M., but donations will be accepted at anytime between 6:30 A.M. through 1:00 P.M. at the convenience of the donor.

Q: What should volunteers know?
Not a great cook. Do you have LOVE in your heart? That’s all you need. We have opportunities to share your love by helping in our Kitchen. Help us with picking up and checking in donations, preparing meals, and keeping the inside and outside of our facility clean and safe. Come alone, or get a group of about five or six and schedule your day to be a part of a wonderful team.
